It seems more and more every day that credit card problems are arising across the United States, not only from peoples borrowing habits, but from the almost illegal business practices that credit card lending companies have been using to make as much money as possible before Congress passed legislation on what they were doing. So what is it exactly that these lenders are doing that is so illegal? First, the credit card lenders will loan you money even if you already have borrowed more than you can pay each month. In some cases, people have already owed more than 2 times their monthly income to credit card companies in minimum payments each month, and were still getting approval offers for more credit cards, sometimes with $10,000 limits on them. The company that sent the offer knew well in advance that the person they were sending it to already had a huge credit card problem, and did not need any more debt, but instead approved them before they even sent the offer out. The credit cards problems people are facing now aren’t all their fault, as credit card lenders are highly to blame and Congress is going to make sure that they can’t get away with what they are doing for long.
People have mainly been having Visa credit card problems because of the debit and plastic trash fake Visa credit cards that banks offer. These cards are not true Visa cards by any means, just stamped with the logo to be accepted in more locations. The banks were cracked down on har
d for allowing customers to run completely in the red, as well as using computer generated means of determining how to hold payments made to your account, while allowing payments made to your creditors to go through. What this did is run your account severely over the limit, and you were responsible for paying the overdraft fees, and any associated fees that come with you running into the red.
Student credit card problems are also widespread and running rampant, because credit card lenders know how students like to spend, and believe that mommy and daddy will pick up the ticket if their beloved child can’t pay, or decides to stop covering the tab they have racked up. The methods used on students are even more ludicrous than what was being done to the general public because of a student’s complete lack of knowledge about credit lending.
